In the last two weeks, the searches for Amazon Fresh on Google increased tenfold – as can be seen on the new infographic by Kryptoszene.de. It looks like the American company will benefit from the coronavirus pandemic – Amazon has listed 100,000 new positions to satisfy the rising demand for its services.
Just two weeks ago, the number of searches in Germany for the grocery delivery service Amazon Fresh was very low. The Google Trend Score that shows the relative search volume was at the beginning of March at 10. Right now, it has reached its peak value of 100. According to Google data, the demand has never climbed to this level in the past year.
Meanwhile, it’s not just Amazon’s grocery delivery service that is being used. The increasing demand also shows itself in the company’s stock market value. The price of Amazon shares still decreased, but significantly less than that of other companies operating online. Facebook shares have lost 30% in value in the last four weeks. Amazon, on the other hand, only accounts for 8.5% of losses.

Amazon Will Benefit From Increasing Popularity of Online Shopping
A survey by „Morning Consult“ revealed that many US citizens are changing their shopping habits. 25% of respondents said that they started shopping online much more since the rise of the coronavirus. Amazon, the company with the highest market penetration, is the crowd’s favorite.
Even without the corona-crisis, the company is enjoying a rise, according to the infographic. Last year, Amazon generated $280.52 billion in sales. In Q4 2019, online retailer again surpassed the previous quarter by 25%. The coronavirus outbreak could facilitate further growth: although there is no data yet, industry experts estimate that the volume of online shopping could exceed even the Christmas sales.
